Thomas
Flechtner, inspired by many days of walking with his feet
on skins, has been working during three years on his "Walks"
compositions. Surfaces covered by virgin snow and free of
treads make us think of photographic plates. Here we do have
not any silver salt, what we have is snowflakes reacting to
the passage of the artist, alone, with his feet on skis. He
is light. He is the agent that will reveal a shape. After
having placed his camara within a distance from the space
he wants to cover and having decided on a particular frame,
Thomas Flechtner chooses the time of exposure that corresponds
effectively to the time the marking will take.
